Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides and coordinates the delivery of clinical and non-clinical services under the direction of the Physicians in the clinic.
Triages and prioritizes incoming patient concerns, conferring with physicians, following through on physician orders and relaying information to patients.
Performs care coordination for obstetrical patients including completing the initial intake for newly pregnant patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
Active LPN licensure in the state of Oregon.
Six or more months of related experience in a medical practice preferred
Essential Job Functions:
Triages all patient related telephone calls.
Assesses situations and consults with physician, and prioritizes calls according to severity or need.
Performs care coordination for obstetrical patients
Collecting, recording and reporting data that includes vitals, Temperature, Pulse and Respiration (TPR), Blood Pressure (BP) and blood sugar readings
Collecting specimens as requested
Accurately relays physician orders to patients, hospitals, pharmacies and other agencies.
Accurately documents patient orders and outcomes.
Assists the with clerical duties as needed such as: Answering the phone, greeting patients and visitors, routing calls to appropriate staff, scheduling patient appointments
Other responsibilities as directed by physician or manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support)
Demonstrated organization, prioritization and time-management skills
Strong interpersonal, listening, as well as oral communication skills
Customer service skills and follow-up skills
Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with others and in a team environment
Problem solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
