Pharmacy Technician LOCATION: Total Health Community Clinic | 180 Atwater St.
N Monmouth POSITION STATUS: Full-time | Monday – Friday Northwest Human Services is currently seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Team at our Total Health Community Clinic in Monmouth! YOUR ROLE: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting with prescription refill requests based on physician managed medication refill protocols.
Under the direction of the practitioner utilizes physician managed protocols to expedite prescription refill requests.
The Pharmacy Technician records data in the patient’s electronic medical record and communicates to patient’s practitioner and other health care team members as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
Coordinates medication prior-authorization requests from patients and community pharmacies by providing necessary clinical documentation for health plan review.
Verifies prescription benefits and medication formularies for patients as needed.
Contacts insurance companies as necessary to acquire prior authorizations.
The Pharmacy Technician contributes to maintaining the patient’s health care record through careful, accurate and complete documentation of the elements under their responsibility.
Thy work in conjunction with the medical staff to provide comprehensive, quality, and accessible health care services to the community.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: Actively participates as an integral and valued member of the Care Team, demonstrating active engagement in supporting the NWHS Mission.
Accurately processes prescription refill requests and approves refills or calls in prescriptions as appropriate according to protocol.
Effectively utilizes the 340B Drug Price Guide and insurance prescription drug formularies to improve patient access.
Communicates with local pharmacies to assist with billing discrepancies/clarification pertaining to 340b.
Supports Consulting Pharmacist in non-clinical job duties including but not limited to: maintaining hepatitis C spreadsheet, scrubbing for pharmacist appointments, management of patient assistance program, drug formulary lookup and cost determination, assisting patients with troubleshooting common pharmacy dispensing issues.
Communicates with the Care Team, the patient and respective pharmacies to ensure the prescription needs of patients are met.
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Pharmacy Technician with one year of experience in a retail pharmacy setting that includes accurately billing third party insurance and troubleshooting common issues.
Certified pharmacy technician preferred.
Bilingual preferred – Bilingual in English/another language and able to pass proficiency testing.
Ability to communicate and interact with all areas of the clinic Ability to deal with the public efficiently, courteously, politely, and effectively.
Ability to work with diverse cultures and lifestyles.
