* Your Role With Us: As a Professional Fee Coder II, you will use your coding knowledge to abstract medical records and accurately assign professional (physician) codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS Level II coding systems for two or more specialties.
You will also research payer’s coding and reimbursement policies as necessary.
Our Coders are expected to maintain knowledge of coding guidelines as well as maintain or exceed CEU’s as required by licensing governing body (AAPC, AHIMA) and provide proof of credential maintenance prior to its expiration.

Background/Expertise: Experience: • Minimum of three (3) years relevant inpatient and/or outpatient professional CPT/ICD-10 coding experience required, five (5) years preferred.
Licenses/ Certification/ Registration: • CPC, CCS, CCS-P, or RHIT , or RHIA Certification • If uncertified, required to certify, as department specifies, within one year of hire.
Special knowledge, skills, & abilities: • Prefer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook • Demonstrates knowledge of, and compliance with hospital Safety Management Program • Maintains confidentiality • Must communicate information effectively and positively in group settings as well as one-on-one with providers • Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize and efficiently manage time • Ability to research federal, commercial, and organizational guidelines to provide coding solutions and education to dept.
staff and providers • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease processes.
